Goodbye 2009…it’s been fun!

It was stinking cold but that didn’t stop folks from turning out en masse to check out the fireworks in downtown Edmonton.  Well hello there 2010…looking forward to getting to know you.

I say…let them clash!

As our regular readers and listeners know, I’m not usually a big fan of Hollywood’s current trend toward remaking TV shows, old films and pretty much any property they can get their hands on that doesn’t involve any serious thinking or creative process.  That said, I am a big fan of the 80s film Clash of the Titans and since I felt the material deserved more respect and better actors (sorry Harry Hamelin!), I’m very much looking forward to director Louis Leterrier’s new vision.

Check out the new trailer…promising indeed!  I just hope it offers as much story and character as the CG-laden images we see here.

The Great Toy Robbery

Thanks to some help from my big brother Tim, I was delighted to recently rediscover this National Film Board of Canada short film I remembered bits and pieces of from my childhood.  Hope you enjoy it as a short but sweet yuletide treat!

The whole Dixon clan serves up the main course with their review of the BKN Kids release Magical Christmas Collection. And saving the sumptuous dessert for last, Michelle takes the front seat for a Disney Vault look at Pixar’s Cars.
