In the fading twilight of Comic Con 2010, Kent and Michelle hit the interwebs for the weirdest dog barks, Guillermo Del Toro’s plans for Disney’s Haunted Mansion, hunting animated French dragons, even more classic Star Trek on Blu-ray, and a bloodthirsty review of New Moon.

Vacation is over for Kent and Michelle, who have already begun planning for early retirement. Until then, they have to deal with new jobs, lost keys, life with tweens, more classic Star Trek on Blu-ray, and a long overdue review of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.

Before packing up the new motor home and heading off on vacation, The Dixons record a new episode in which they analyze the Highland Games, Shatner’s toupee, IMAX horses, real vampires, and interplanetary travel.

Summer vacation begets pre-teen attitude problems for Kent and Michelle, who still find the energy to review Disney’s Eight Below, Star Wars in Concert, and Star Trek’s “The Man Trap.”

The whirling Dixons take a moment from their hectic schedule to breathe and podcast. The Hobbit circles fresh directorial meat. Marvel rebirths the serialized short format. Kent listens to Star Wars in concert while viewing National Geographic, and Michelle drinks a Slurpee while under attack from annoying superheroes. Oh, and a lack of sleep keeps our mom from continuing her five year mission. Maybe next week.

Kent gets his geek on as Disneyland unveils World of Color and announces details on the Star Tours revamp, teases the addition of Marvel superheroes to their parks, explores the Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, and bemoans the absence of a Walt Disney biopic. In non-Disney-related news, Kent uncovers the Mystery of the Gorillas, Michelle fears the remake of ’80s horror/comedy Fright Night, and a new segment takes The Dixon family on a five year mission into the realm of Star Trek: The Original Series.

It’s a tale of woe from a galaxy far, far away, as Star Wars in Concert heads to Edmonton and Kent is too little, too late. Michelle shares her tales of small-town musical theater gone wrong, the Sharks and Jets get ready to rumble with a review of 1961 Oscar winner, West Side Story. Kent gives a brief review of Life, BBC’s most recent DVD and Blu-ray release. And just for argument’s sake, how long was that Groundhog Day anyway!?!?!

Despite the Dixons’ summer preparations hitting several roadblocks, they still find the energy to eulogize Gary Coleman and Dennis Hopper; mourn the departure of Guillermo del Toro from The Hobbit films; review the Billy Wilder classic The Apartment, a Disney ’70s favorite The Rescuers, and the Blu-ray presentation of The Music Man.

The Dixons take a breather from their quest to reclaim the wilds of their backyard from feral hounds to celebrate Empire Strikes Back’s 30th birthday and talk the end of the TV season, as their favorites draw to a close for another year. Then it’s time to harness up the horses and strap on the sandals for a review of 1959 Best Picture winner Ben Hur.
